When Mike and I were helped with a grant on our second adoption we were also given a significant donation from an “anonymous angel.” We applied what we needed to our adoption and donated the rest back to the agency that gave us our grant and it felt awesome! Giving back is a good thing!

Our “Hope for Orphans” ministry is making a difference in the lives of orphans who will not be adopted and children who do not have their needs met at home due to poverty. We are pleased to announce our Child Sponsorship Program in Addisababa, Ethiopia! In October 2010 a team from the Hug Away Foundation will travel to Addisababa, Ethiopia. We will be visiting our sponsor children and working on the “School of Excellence” that the children attend. We will also be visiting and helping a orphanage and attending to the needs of families in the community.

We are blessed that God has called us to help these precious children. Not only will we meet their physical needs with food, clothing and medical needs, we will give them emotional support with lots of hope, love and hugs and most important, tell them about Jesus Christ.

Thank you for visiting the Hug Away Foundation. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit ministry.

Our Mission: Titus 3. Doing what is right. This is our mission. This is our heart.

Adoption has changed many lives. We know because we have taken that journey. The founders and several of the board members of the Hug Away Foundation are adoptive parents. We know the blessings, the struggles, the ups and downs of the adoption process. We know how your heart feels when you finally receive the referral picture you have waited months or maybe years for. You will stare at it for hours on end trying to see if you missed something the first 100 times you looked at it! Next, you will run out and make copies to hand out to family and friends. That referral picture is everything to you. Then you wait for the call that says “you can travel.” Yes, adoption is an amazing journey and we want families to know that we will be there for them.

Not every child will be adopted. There are is an estimated 150 million orphans in the world. That means there are 150 million children who need to know someone cares for them and loves them. We can’t reach all of them, but our goal is to reach as many of them as we can through our “Hope for Orphans” ministry.

Some parents are unable to meet their childrens needs. You can help when you sponsor a child through our Ethiopia Child Sponsorship program.$30 a month will send a child to school, feed them and they will receive medical care. If you are interested in sponsoring a child please contact us.

We can not offer grants, help orphans, or have a sponsorship program without you. It is as simple as that. The children need you. We need you. We hope you will consider becoming a donor or sponsor. Hosea 14:3 In you the orphan finds mercy. If we do not look after these little ones who will? Something I learned a long time ago is never assume that someone else is doing this.

Your donation will help bring one of these children home to their forever family. It will help a child who is alone in this world. A child who sleeps on the ground, alone, with no one to protect them from the elements or from child sex traffickers. Sponsor a child and they will go to school, have food and medical needs met. Your donation or sponsorship will make a difference in the life of a child somehow, somewhere, someway. We know you have a choice of where and who you want your money to help and we are grateful you chose The Hug Away Foundation!

There are several ways you can donate. Click on the donation button and give whatever amount you feel comfortable with. It can be a one time donation or you can have a set amount taken from your checking account or credit card each month. You can send a check or money order to: The Hug Away Foundation, P.O. Box 1241, Broken Arrow, OK 74013. Check with your employer and see if they may be interested in matching your donation. Again, Thank you! You are a blessing!

The Hug Away Foundation was founded with a desire to help families with some of the financial obstacles of adoption, help those chilren who will not be adopted or whose families are unable to take care of them.

Hi my name is Elaine Bayer and my husband Mike and I are the founders of Hug Away. When we adopted our daughters money was a huge issue. We had no doubt since God called us to do adopt that He would provide. One of the ways he provided was through grants. Through the generosity of others we were able to bring our daughters home. When one of the grants took us over the amount we needed we donated it back. I believe that is when the seed for Hug Away was planted.

In our travels to S. Korea, Vietnam and Venezuela we have looked into the eyes of children who will not be adopted or have parents who can not take care of them. It broke our hearts. They are innocent and have no voice in their situation. So we hope with prayers and your help that we can be their voice and give them hope.
